How an ordinary person found the strength to do something extraordinary

Shannon Gardner is a mother, grandmother, a 25-year veteran of the food industry, and this May, she’ll be helping end childhood hunger in America by cycling 300 miles in three days.

Along with hundreds of other dedicated chefs, Shannon will be pushing herself to the limit with the goal of raising awareness and $2.4 million for their cause.

Shannon’s athletic feat is going to help improve the lives of children across the country, but it wouldn’t be possible if Shannon hadn’t found her inner athlete with the help of Herbalife Nutrition.

Shannon’s ride is scheduled to begin nearly four years to the day after she walked into Millionaire Team member Mark Kanas’ Nutrition Club and said, “I want to be fit enough to do this charity ride.” Committed to her goal, she became a Preferred Member and focused on cross-training and proper nutrition with our Herbalife24® products.

Through hard work, determination, and the support of her Herbalife Nutrition community, Shannon not only reached her goal, in the process, she lost 45 pounds,* ran two marathons, and participated in dozens of half-marathons and endurance races. She says, “Mark and the rest of the Herbalife Nutrition community taught me that if I nourish my body well, I can do almost anything.”

Once Herbalife Nutrition helped her reach her goal, Shannon knew it was time to give back to the bigger goal of bringing an end to childhood hunger.

Shannon says, “I don’t consider myself an athlete… I’m an ordinary person doing extraordinary things with the help of an amazing product and community.”

*People who use Herbalife Nutrition Formula 1 twice a day as part of a healthy lifestyle can generally expect to lose around half a pound to 1 pound per week.
